Marxism 101: The myth of democracy under capitalism

10:00am Saturday 1 September

About this session

The richest 1% who rule the world try to say that we in the West live in a democracy, and that if we don’t like the way things are then we can always just vote for someone else. Marx put it more accurately when he described capitalist democracy as a system where “the oppressed are allowed once every few years to decide which particular representatives of the oppressing class are to represent and repress them.”
