Left Strategy: Strike together, march separately: Understanding the united front

2:30pm Saturday 24 August

About this session

There have always been political debates on the left, the most important of which is the strategic question of reform and revolution. Some have argued that any attempt to clarify lines of demarcation on these questions – either politically or organisationally – is inherently sectarian and divisive. This talk will reflect on the high points of the workers movement in order to make a case that it is both possible and necessary to simultaneously collaborate and stridently disagree with non-revolutionary political forces, and that it is only through such methods that a mass socialist movement can be built.
