Housing and debt: How capitalism shapes our cities

12:00pm Saturday 19 August

About this session

Skyrocketing rents, workers crippled by mortgage debt, unliveable cities divided between luxury inner city living for the wealthy and suburban wastelands for the rest. The housing crisis in Australia has meant profits for the rich while workers, students and the poor struggle to afford a home. This session will explore how capitalism has produced the housing crisis and why it makes our cities barely fit to live in.
