A revolutionary uprising of workers in Italy winessed massive strikes and factory occupations from 1919-1920. Following in the wake of revolutions in Russia and Germany, the Biennio Rosso (“Two Red Years”) had the potential to spread the fight for socialism across Europe. Why was it not successful, and what lessons does it hold for revolutionaries today?
