Over the years, the trends within the manosphere have changed and developed. Jordan Peterson and his lobster obssesion has given way to ‘looksmaxers’ and new knuckle-dragging bigots like Andrew Tate. Incels are an everpresent feature. Behind it all is the sexist society we live in. The manosphere is the product of sexism that capitalism produces. This online world of mysogynists takes misogyny and pro-capitalist ideas and puts them on steriods.
This session will argue that confront the manosphere we need to understand and confront the sexist society we live in more fundamentally – one which continues to oppress, objectify and underpay women.
