21st century capitalism is rife with sexism. Women are oppressed in every aspect of life – from unpaid domestic labour, to wage inequality, to rigid gender norms. Sexism benefits the rich and powerful. This session will explore why capitalism needs sexism and why fighting for liberation means transformation of the capitalist structures that rely on gendered oppression.
